Message from the OSA Chair
The Saints Sports Festival is just around the corner from the 18th – 22nd April, and this year we are making the OSA hospitality tent even better than before. As part of these awesome changes, we have rebranded our tent as the OSA Zone. Located in the same area as before, but with more space and a bigger bar. We also will be having some great live music, headlined by Rubber Duc, as well as awesome drinks specials, and a return of our braai committee. We are also running great drinks specials during the course of the weekend, please follow our Facebook Page, Old Stithian Association for further updates.
If you would like to get involved and volunteer in the tent, please also pop us a mail on email@example.com
For a long time now, we have been working on the details of our product offering and I can tell you now, that what is being launched this year is going to be very exciting.
The team has built an exciting range of products, supplied by Alumni as well as some very exciting offerings, including discounts at Higher Ground, various reciprocity opportunities and a new portal to go live this year.
If you would like to be in touch on anything involving the OSA, please feel free to get in touch with me. I am always keen to hear your views and if you are wanting to get involved we have numerous projects which are looking for help.
I look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events or at Higher Ground.

“Born 2 Run”
Club runs taking place at the Higher Ground Restaurant at 17:45 every Wednesday. There is a 5km and 8km route. The club offers social runs, events, access to top-notch coaches and runners and sponsors interactions.
The “Om De Dam” race was held on the 16 March 2019, this is the largest inland Ultra Marathon in South Africa offering a 50km ultra marathon and a 21km half marathon. A fair amount of runners took part in this race. Well done to the runners that took part.
Crusaders diving club won the overall trophy at the National Age groups were held in December 2018. We are the biggest club by far composing half if not more of the total number of divers competing, Crusaders are slowly growing where other clubs struggling for divers.
During this current season, South Africa’s only current Olympian has changed clubs to join Crusaders.
The diving club is still hoping for some facility improvements:
- A rig over the boards (to assist divers to learn new dives without having to crash and hurt themselves)
- A cover over the foam pit, (this was done but it leaked and now the foam that the club paid for has rotted)
- Solar heating for the pool, the pool is only warm for a few months of the year, the rest of the year its icy as its deep and doesn’t have a cover on it.
The club would like to raise funds to improve their facilities by selling bacon rolls etc at festivals?
The current 2019 has started and is going very well. A new committee has been formed at the Crusaders Football Club.
The registration day was held a few weeks back, with a good number of boys signing up. The boys and girls are currently training on the Wayne Joubert fields at Saints, this is from Monday to Thursday and coaches and parents are very happy.
A new website and Facebook page has been set up. All new members can sign up on www.crusadersfc.co.za.
Crusaders Football Club would like to get their numbers up to 200 members if possible for 2019.
